Infant Program 6 weeks – 18 Months

Our loving, knowledgeable, and caring staff cares for infant between the ages of 6 weeks to 18 months. KC’s Academy has two separate infant rooms, each designed specifically for your infant’s development. Our introductory infant room accepts children from 6 weeks up to about 8-9 months. Then your child is slowly transitioned into our second infant room where there is a more structured curriculum including “Your Baby Can Read,” sign language, Spanish and other developmental games. We maintain a 3:1 ratio in both classrooms at all times and always base curriculum and transitions on your child’s individual progress and readiness.

All of our staff members are trained in the field of infant care, are CPR and First Aid certified, and are well-versed in policies specific to KC’s Academy including taking anecdotal notes on your child’s progress, sanitation of all mouthed toys and communicating with parents daily.

KC’s Academy has an open door policy. This means that parents can visit their infant at any time during the day, whether it’s a mother who wants to breast feed her infant, or simply a mom or dad who wants to stop in to play. We’d love to have you!

To help communication between the infants and the teachers, we pay very close attention to their individual cues. In this way, it becomes much easier for the teachers to learn your child’s behavior, and how they let us know what they need and want.

We love to take our infants outside! KC’s Academy feels that children should interact with nature as much as possible. We take advantage of our peaceful neighborhood and take the infants on walks twice a day (weather permitting).
